Things that are amazing

  • It is snowing. In Dallas.
  • Yesterday, it was 80 degrees and Duncan was playing in the back yard in just a diaper and shoes.
  • He is still sleeping through the night.
  • Iain and I both stayed home today (Iain's office was closed) but Duncan had preschool/mother's day out. Again, because of the "wintery mix" a/k/a "arctic blast".
  • There is nothing going on in Dallas besides the weather and the Cowboys playing the Giants on Sunday. If there is, they aren't talking about it on any of the news broadcasts.

Duncanspeak

Ah-too = Thank You. Often spoken at grocery store check out lines, Starbucks, Granny's house.

Ceee = Cheese. Wonderful, wonderful cheese! String form or slice, does not matter. Even shredded, I love thee.

Rowr = In response to "what does a lion say?" To be spoken in a very gutteral voice.

Mamoo = Nemo

Eeee Ah = Uh oh!

Fact: Wiggles car makes great step stool to reach stove top. Especially with mommy's car keys in one hand.
Fact: It takes exactly the same amount of time for mommy to put mascara on one eye (top only, bottom lashes not included) as it does for toddler to climb on top of toilet, grasp toothbrush holder (mounted to wall...old fashioned tile kind) and climb into sink. All with full sized toothbrush in his hand.

We have sleep, people.

For the past ten or so nights, Duncan has gone to sleep easily and slept all night long in his own bed.

My life has changed. I see colors more brightly. There is a spring in my step. I get a little choked up just writing about it.

Contenders

We had some pictures taken last Saturday and I'm having a time narrowing them down for a Christmas card. I have about 125 to choose from (we own the CD and the pictures, which is really great...love this photographer and will pimp her on this board soon.)

These pants have been banned for any activity outside of our home. However, I think they are precious cute and am going to put him in them for Mother's Day Out tomorrow. Iain thinks they look like Hammer pants. Posted by Picasa
